The Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Q.E.H) in Barbados is a unique community where all of its departments contribute directly or indirectly to the care of the patients. The service of the hospital entails all of the activities involved in the care of patients from the time they enter the threshold of the institution, continues through their treatment and rehabilitation, until they are capable of resuming their normal activities.

This institution was opened on November 14, 1964 in Barbados as an acute care facility, which sought to address the medical, surgical, clinical and treatment needs of the Caribbean and to serve as a teaching hospital for those seeking a career in the medical profession.
