Haymans Market is the single largest restoration project in Barbados which sees the former Haymans Sugar Factory being transformed into a market. All under one roof you can find a cafe, bars, stalls, shops, entertainment area, event space, family friendly restaurants, a gym and so much more located on the North/ West side of the island.

Over the years the factory, through many owners, transformed from a simple wind driven mill and open boiling operation, to a sophisticated electrified modern factory of its time. Factory operations came to an end in 1988 and the doors closed due to the changing state of the Sugar Industry in Barbados. Over the years the plantation buildings and factory remained abandoned and in a state of disrepair. The grounds and buildings were used as garages for equipment being used for cane harvest and the factory machinery was removed and sold  off, leaving an empty shell.

In 2020, Sun Group Investments Inc began the repurposing and transformation of the factory into a destination of retail, dining, offices, entertainment, apartments as a community for both locals and tourists to enjoy.

Our location, architecture, Merchants, Traders and their products are distinctive - unique in the food and products they sell as well as the people who sell them. Visit and stay a while at Haymans Market to indulge in delicious local flavors, sounds and experiences not found anywhere else.
