Heywoods BeachHeywoods Beach is located on the mid to North West Coast of Barbados in the parish of St. Peter, with Almond Beach Club, Speightstown, and Mullins Bay to the south, and Port St. Charles and Six Men's Bay to the north.
Heywoods Beach is nestled between two exclusive Barbados resorts: Almond Beach Resort and, a little further north, Port St. Charles in Barbados, an exclusive Caribbean residential marina development. A public access road with parking availability helpfully links these two properties.
Heywoods Beach is in fact home to Almond Beach Resort, one of Barbados' extensive all-inclusive Barbados hotels.
The idyllic Heywoods Beach is one of the widest beaches in Barbados and is similar to most of the other beaches along the West Coast of Barbados, enjoying the beauty and benefits of the Caribbean Sea's coastline. Tranquil azure waters and mellow golden sands sheltered by tropical trees and plants; watersports opportunities - water skiing, diving, glass bottom boat trips, Jet Skiing; safe shallow reefs that are ideal for swimming and snorkelling; loungers and chair hire; changing and bathroom facilities; snacks, drinks and food outlets; and easy access to the location by car or public transport. There is also a small executive golf course adjacent to Heywoods Beach in Barbados, perfect for a few rounds before a refreshing dip in the sea and a Happy Hour rum punch!
The main beach area for Almond Beach Resort is just south of Port St. Charles, and is the widest stretch of sand. A little bit further around the corner the beach narrows quite a bit but is still suitable for swimming and sunbathing. One of the real attractions of Heywoods Beach and many other West Coast beaches in Barbados is the safety aspect for families with young children. The coral reef at Heywoods Beach is very close to the shore creating numerous natural reef enclosures or rock pools where children can safely paddle, play and swim.
