Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is situated on the West Coast of Barbados, in the parish of St. Michael, with Freshwater Bay, Brighton Beach and Barbados' capital Bridgetown to the south, and Batts Rock Bay, Crystal Cove and Fitts Village Beach to the north.

Paradise Beach is actually separated from the beaches to its south by a small clump of woodland, the ideal spot for picnicking. Originally the site of the highly popular Cunard Paradise Hotel in Barbados, now closed for several years, Paradise Beach itself now sits empty of its bustling activities and tourists and is a tranquil haven for holidaymakers and locals seeking safe, calm clear waters and some facilities without the crowds.

Living up to its name, Paradise Beach is a quiet, calm area, with often deserted soft white sands and a gentle, refreshing sea. It is an excellent place to swim all year round as there is no undertow, and snorkelers enjoy exploring the shallow rock formations found here.

There are public access entries to Paradise Beach, but you will need to use the entrance at Batts Rock Beach if you want to access the beach by car. There are also lifeguards at Paradise Beach, plenty of trees for shade from the sun, shower and changing facilities and a small children's playground.

Sit on the sands, relax and watch the thrilling jet skiers as they speed by and the more sedate fishing boats with local fishermen on their way out to sea or coming back home with the day's catch.

Paradise Beach is a popular beach for Bajan people rather than tourists, so there are very few beach vendors in the area.

Work on the proposed luxurious 32 acre Four Seasons Hotel Resort at Paradise Beach has encountered a number of setbacks, and up to the time of the launching of this website, it was still uncertain if or when it will be opened.
