Holders SeasonWhen summed up, Holders Season can easily be considered one of those more polished and upmarket festivals that take place in Barbados. Holders Season is a show of drama and music combined to produce a cultural event quite unlike any other seen anywhere in Barbados. So highly ranked, the festival has been labeled "the Premiere Cultural Event in the Caribean."
The Holders Season was established in 1993 and takes places annually nearing the end of March until the curtains close at the beginning of April. Wendy Kidd is the driving force behind such this festival as she has been producing it since its inception. A time of culture unfolds once this festival gets started in an ambience conducive to absolute relaxation.
This festival takes place at no other venue but Holders House in the parish of St. James. Holders House is yet another one of Barbados' traditional historic homes that dates back to the seventeenth (17th) century. This historic home provides the ideal venue for such a festival with its well manicured and spacious grounds and breathtaking views that look onto the Caribbean Sea.
We are proud to say that in the past, Holders Season has been host to a wealth of international stars including but not limited to Luciano Pavarotti and Kylie Minogue.
