Welcome to Barbados the land of sun, sea and beautiful white sand, but let us not forget great intoxicating night-life! Let us go on a magical journey to one of our great restaurants which transforms into a home for nocturnal socialites living for the music and dying for a great time, let us go to Bump 'n Wine Café!
Bump 'n Wine Café is a vibrant restaurant and bar located in the heart of Bridgetown, Barbados. It is situated next to the Independence Arch of Barbados, which is a pretty big deal as the Arch in itself transcribes the history of Barbados' Independence. The Arch houses our symbolic Dolphin, Pelican, Coat of Arms and a summary of our road to Independence along with information on the father of Independence The Rt Hon. Errol Walton Barrow.
During the day, Bump 'n Wine Café is a restaurant where you can settle down and enjoy the historical downtown while eating or chatting with family and friends. Specialising in Bajan food, you can have flying fish cutters or bajan fish cakes inside the specially decorated restaurant while music stimulates your senses. You can even take it outside on the deck overlooking the waterfront, revealing a spectacular view of the water alongside the well crafted boardwalk.
Bump 'n Wine Café is managed by Alan Shepherd, former lead singer, song writer, arranger and producer of one of Barbados' famous pop groups, Spice & Company. Ironically Bump 'n Wine Café was actually a song produced by Spice. At night Bump 'n Wine Café transforms into a nightclub, offering different themes each night. It was the home to Mic Check, a child born from Mahalia's Corner.
If you've never heard of our local band Nexcyx or their huge international hit Gossip Girl, familiarize yourself with where it all started. Mahalia is the lead singer of Nexcyx and she showcased many talents each week, paving a way for Mic Check hosted by Sun Rokk, a fluent local rapper who gave other local rappers, poets and actors the chance to showcase their talent.
Bump 'n Wine Café also has Reggae Thursdays hosted by another local band High Grade but don't worry as they play other genres along with reggae.
Fab Fridays hosted by Barbados' No.1 Dj Jon Doe offers a very low admission price for the ladies and on top of that, making it a drinks free event for the ladies as well.
Lastly Amnesia is Saturday's theme. For this particular night, the drink with the same name Amnesia makes its debut, with a variety of colors, it is a blend of different alcoholic beverages. The taste is light and resembles a fruit juice but over consumption of this beverage could produce side effects of, for lack of a better word - Amensia!
Each night offers crazy drink specials, bar top dancing and wicked club mixes featuring all genres of music. One would say they have pretty much cemented themselves as the best party spot on the south coast of Barbados.
