MRI ScansMRI Scans or Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a noninvasive medical test that assists medical practitioners on the island of Barbados, in the process of identifying the nature of and treating medical conditions.
MRI Scans use a combination of a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to create comprehensive images of organs, soft tissues, bone and just about any internal body structure that exists. After examination of these images by way of a computer monitor, they are then transmitted electronically and printed or copied to a CD. MRI does not use ionizing radiation (x-rays).
Other imaging methods used in Barbados include x-ray, ultrasound or CAT scans. Despite the level of technology found in the aforementioned methods, when compared to MRI Scans, they are not as accurate when detecting the existence of a particular disease.
