Two Beach Chairs on the Shore, Barbados Pocket Guide

South Coast

The south coast of the island of Barbados is typically a much livelier place than the more sedate west coast. The south coast offers quite a few options in terms of nightlife; they are numerous restaurants, night clubs, bars and not to mention the several 'windows to the Sea', several of which are framed by the many accommodation options which are available along this coastline.

Many of the hotels along the south coast of Barbados are located right on the beach or literally just a few steps away. Staying on the south coast of Barbados literally puts you within easy reach of many of Barbados' premium entertainment options.  The south coast has something for every one; it offers access to historic Bridgetown, the lively St. Lawrence Gap and the phenomenal Oistins.

Barbados’ south coast has something for every budget; from the luxury hotels and villas to the more budget friendly Barbadian guest houses or self-contained apartments, in addition to the all-inclusive properties similar to those located on the island’s west coast. Additionally, the main road along the south coast runs directly along the shoreline which provides excellent access to transportation for all of the amenities on the south coast or anywhere else on the island of Barbados where you might want to explore.

The south coast also has many local rum shops and shops where you can sample many of the traditional Bajan delicacies. Barbados' south coast also caters to the adventurous among you, with many venues for wind surfing, skiing and surfing, not to mention the many dive shops from which you could book a dive tour to explore Barbados' rich coral reefs. So all that’s left is for you is to come on down.
