Il Tempio Italian Restaurant
In a tiny village in St. James, Barbados, known as Fitts Village, there is a delightful restaurant in a cosy corner on the beach side. Its name is Il Tempio.
Il Tempio is an Italian restaurant on the west coast of Barbados which deceives with its understated external appearance. Behind its doors, however is a beautifully laid-out bar and dining area, its soft furnishings in bright vibrant colours appealing to the senses. Almost every table has a view of the ocean and the sound of the generally tranquil waters adds to the overall aura of welcome and comfort. So, whether one is hanging out at the bar or mulling over the dinner menu, the experience is equally enjoyable.
Il Tempio is open for both lunch and dinner. They also cater to weddings and other private functions. For lunch, restaurant patrons are able to choose from an extensive menu, almost as never-ending as the sea itself. Select from, Antipasto All 'Italiana, Caesar Salad, Italian Lasagne filled with mozzarella and ragout, Spaghetti with Jumbo Shrimps in Garlic Sauce. For dinner, there are at least six appetisers from which to choose, then the main course pasta dishes, side orders and the main entrees. Try the fresh lobster served Italian style or the risotto rice.
Needless to say to ensure authenticity, the items are all presented in Italian with the English translation.
A range of liquid refreshment is available for your drinking pleasure. Try their Pina Colada (every one tastes different) or martini or champagne cocktails. An extensive wine list and a choice of coffees are also available.
The restaurant is open for lunch for 12 noon until 2pm and for dinner from 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm. Treat yourself to Il Tempio on Barbados' west coast.
