Wytukai
The parish of Christ Church in Barbados can be described as a lively hub of activity, with a convergence of the commercial, dining and accommodation aspects of what the island has to offer. Specifically, there are numerous eating establishments to choose from and the area of Accra is no exception.
Wytukai can be highlighted as one such restaurant which is sometimes overlooked by the public as it is located within and as part of the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa on Rockley main road. It is however worth seeking out, as it is the only Polynesian restaurant in Barbados. On stepping into the hotel's main lobby, the staff will direct you to make a left along the winding walkway which will take you to the restaurant, so designed with its tiki huts to re-create the feeling of an authentic Polynesian Village. It is the bright decor that adds to the feeling of gaiety and fun as dining out should always be an enjoyable experience!!
In terms of the food at Wytukai, as with any restaurant, there are a few must-trys: the Mount Wytukai Hot Sour Soup to start, the AHI Spring Rolls which are filled with seared vegetables and a delightful chilli sauce. Black Pepper Shrimp and Lobster in Oyster Sauce and South Pacific Pork Satay, are but a few of the main cuisine creations, cooked to perfection for the absolute satisfaction of the restaurant patron.
Wytukai is open for dinner from Tuesdays to Saturdays 6:30 - 10:30 p.m.
