The Fish Pot Restaurant
Driving along Barbados' coast road heading north, passing the quaint village of Speightstown and the Port St. Charles Marina, one comes upon a small fishing village known as Shermans. It is here that the hidden treasure of The Fish Pot can be found.
Few persons may know that The Fish Pot restaurant is part of a former fort converted into this intimate dining area. Its position is directly on the beach and one can enjoy the calming effects of watching the ocean waves from almost any spot in the restaurant.
The food is simple and sumptuously palatable as the chef takes what might be considered ordinary dishes and re-creates them using local and other herbs and seasonings. For lunch, consider selecting the Chicken Satay with Thai Peanut Sauce or if you consider yourself a food adventurer, try the Grilled Octopus Salad. Not sure about that latter item?? Well stick to something like the tasty Chicken with Lemon Grass Curry Stir-fry dish.
Planning a romantic evening alone without the children? Do put The Fish Pot on your list of places to try! The food choices will toy with your senses and the atmosphere will dispel any stress. To give you some idea, for starters think about having the Tempura-fried Soft Shell Crab or a Pumpkin Tortellini pasta dish. For the main course, take your time. Consider whether it will be the Cracker Crusted Rack of Lamb or Grilled Lobster or...???
Between the calming decor, delicious food and relaxing sea breeze, one is rarely ever disappointed after a visit to The Fish Pot. Depending on where you are staying, it might be considered a long drive or ride, however it is surely worth the trip, whether visiting Barbados or a home-grown resident as the pricing is reasonable.
